Head-on collision on SR-104 injures Wesley Nielson, WSP says

JEFFERSON, WA, (November 06, 2025) — Authorities reported that a two-vehicle crash Thursday evening near the center of the Hood Canal Bridge in Jefferson County left one person dead and injured two others.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a 28-year-old Bremerton woman driving a 2006 Toyota Tacoma attempted a U-turn around 5 p.m., crossing the center line and colliding with a 2015 Mercedes-Benz. The passenger in the pickup, an Allyn resident, died at the scene.

The Mercedes driver, 83-year-old Wesley Nielson of Port Ludlow, was flown to a hospital for treatment. The pickup driver was also airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The crash remains under investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Every year, millions of people are injured in U.S. traffic collisions, many resulting in life-altering consequences. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, approximately 2.2 million individuals were injured in motor vehicle accidents in 2023.

T-bone crashes, where one vehicle strikes the side of another, are among the most dangerous types of roadway collisions in the U.S.

While the cause and liability of this crash remain under investigation, Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal, emphasized the importance of an independent probe by a skilled attorney.

“In addition to law enforcement’s work, an attorney can re-interview witnesses, review surveillance video from the scene, and obtain phone or texting records of the responsible party,” said Bond, a national analyst for Accident Injury News.

“Time is critical in cases like this, and families must ensure that all evidence is carefully reviewed and preserved.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, Wesley Nielson may have the right to file a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, noted that the stress and disruption caused by a serious injury can affect all areas of life, including family, work, finances, and overall well-being.

“It is crucial for victims to retain an attorney when pursuing a personal injury claim, allowing the attorney to negotiate with insurance companies on their behalf,” Formica said.

“Insurance companies may attempt to pressure victims into accepting a low settlement. A skilled attorney will advocate aggressively for the client, ensuring they are treated fairly and receive the compensation they deserve.”
