Head-on accident injures Cornelison, Spradlin in Logan OH

LOGAN, OH, (April 24, 2026) – Two people were injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Logan County, according to authorities.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reported that the collision occurred at approximately 1:46 p.m. on U.S. 33 at County Road 57 when a Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 69-year-old man failed to yield to a Toyota Camry, resulting in a crash.

Ted Cornelison, 54, a passenger in the pickup truck, was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment.

Cheryl Spradlin, 77, a passenger in the Toyota Camry, was taken to Lima Memorial Hospital with suspected serious injuries. The driver of the Camry, identified as John Spradlin, sustained minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

When a driver has the right-of-way, other motorists must yield to them, allowing safe passage through an intersection.

According to Candice Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney, failure-to-yield crashes are frequently caused by driver error. Other contributing factors may include impatience, reckless driving, and distracted driving. It is estimated that nearly 40 percent of vehicle collisions occur at intersections.

Regardless of the outcome of any official investigation, Bond emphasized the importance of hiring an attorney to conduct an independent review of the crash to preserve evidence and protect victims’ rights.

“In addition to law enforcement efforts, an attorney can gather critical evidence needed to demonstrate negligence,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national analyst with Accident Injury News. “Legal counsel can revisit key witnesses, review surveillance footage from the crash scene, and obtain phone and text records of the responsible party. Serving as an advocate, an attorney can guide victims and their families through this difficult time while protecting their legal rights and ensuring accountability.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Ted Cornelison and Cheryl Spradlin may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, noted that the emotional and financial strain following a serious injury can be overwhelming, impacting many aspects of life, including family, employment, and overall well-being.

“While financial compensation cannot undo the harm caused by a serious injury, it is essential that victims understand their legal rights and available options,” Formica added. “Those injured in this crash may be eligible to file a personal injury claim and seek compensation for medical expenses, future care, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.”
