Hays County Plane Crash Kills Seren Wilson, 4 Others in Wimberley TX

WIMBERLEY, TX, (April 30, 2026) – One of five people killed in a small plane crash Thursday night in Hays County has been identified as Seren Wilson, authorities said.

According to Hays County Homeland Security & Emergency Management, a Cessna 421C went down at approximately 11:05 p.m. near the 200 block of Round Rock Road, outside Wimberley.

Officials said the aircraft had departed from Amarillo about two hours earlier and was en route to New Braunfels National Airport at the time of the crash.

Wilson and four other individuals were killed in the incident. Authorities noted that the group was traveling to attend a pickleball tournament.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are leading the investigation into the cause of the crash.

SMALL PLANE CRASH INVESTIGATION

According to statistics, the likelihood of being involved in a commercial aviation accident is about one in 5 million. However, nearly 500 fatalities occur each year in small aircraft crashes, which account for 97 percent of aviation-related deaths. These incidents are most commonly linked to pilot error, though mechanical failure and adverse weather conditions can also contribute.

Candice Bond, an experienced aviation attorney, emphasized that in cases like this it is crucial to have an independent investigation carried out by a skilled lawyer to help protect the rights of victims’ families.

“An attorney can support a grieving family by securing expert witnesses, identifying potential witnesses, and coordinating with agencies such as the NTSB and FAA,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national analyst with Accident Injury News. “By serving as an advocate, an attorney can help guide families through this difficult process while ensuring their legal rights are preserved.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family members of Seren Wilson may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim. Relatives of wrongful death victims can seek compensation for loss of companionship, emotional suffering, and other damages following a tragic accident.

“We understand the hardships families endure after such a devastating loss, and protecting their rights is essential,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “A wrongful death attorney will remain informed on the official investigation and help ensure that the family’s best interests are represented. Loved ones may pursue damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a catastrophic incident.”
