ST. PAUL, Minn. — A teenage girl sustained life-threatening injuries in a four-vehicle chain-reaction crash on northbound U.S. 52 near Plato Boulevard Monday evening.
The collision occurred at 5:07 p.m. when all vehicles traveling northbound collided in a rear-end chain reaction, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.
Hannah Rashid Mursal, 16, of Rochester, was a passenger in a 2018 Honda Odyssey and suffered life-threatening injuries. Paramedics transported her to Regions Hospital along with four other injured people.
A 41-year-old Rochester woman driving the Honda sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Three other passengers in the vehicle, including a 19-year-old woman and an 86-year-old woman, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
A 46-year-old Mounds View man driving a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado was transported to Regions Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two other drivers, a 30-year-old St. Paul man and a 66-year-old St. Paul woman, were not injured.
Road conditions were dry at the time of the crash. St. Paul Fire assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
