LONGVIEW, TX, (June 27, 2026) — A Longview woman remains hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash involving an alleged intoxicated driver Saturday evening on West Loop 281, according to the Longview Police Department.
Investigators said a Jeep crossed the median in the 2200 block of West Loop 281 at approximately 7:50 p.m. and collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe carrying five occupants. The driver of the Tahoe was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hallie Baker, who was riding in the Tahoe, suffered critical injuries and remains in the intensive care unit. Authorities said she also lost her unborn daughter as a result of the collision. Her husband sustained a severe head injury and is expected to face a lengthy recovery.
A 45-year-old Longview woman was arrested following the crash and charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault. She was booked into the Gregg County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
The Longview Police Department continues to investigate the crash and is asking anyone with information to contact investigators.
