UKIAH, OR, (May 23, 2026) – Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle crash in Ukiah that left three juveniles injured Saturday afternoon in Umatilla County, according to the Oregon State Police.
Troopers said a Fish and Wildlife Division officer located a crashed Ford Taurus at approximately 2:45 p.m. on U.S. Forest Service Road 53 near Road 5316.
Investigators later contacted the driver, identified as 38-year-old Pendleton resident Gordon Allan Wegwerth, at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner. Officials stated Wegwerth is expected to be cited for driving while suspended.
One of the injured juveniles was airlifted to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland for emergency treatment. The conditions of the other juveniles have not been released.
The crash remains under investigation by Oregon State Police.
