FATAL BICYCLE CRASH INVESTIGATION

Children riding bicycles are frequently struck by vehicles due to driver errors such as distracted driving, speeding, and failing to yield. Their reduced visibility on the road also puts them at greater risk of being hit.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that approximately 300 children are killed and more than 400,000 are treated in hospital emergency rooms each year because of bicycle-related injuries. Children between the ages of five and 14 face the highest injury rate among all bicyclists.

Candice Bond, an experienced bicycle accident attorney, noted that in situations like this, it’s essential for a lawyer to carry out an independent investigation into the crash to protect the rights of the victim’s family.

“Having the proper resources is extremely important when investigating a bicycle accident case and demonstrating that there was negligence on the part of a motorist,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal. “Road conditions, signage visibility, and road lighting are all possible contributing factors that are considered and must be thoroughly examined. An accident reconstruction team and bicycle manufacturing experts are often utilized to help determine what occurred. These resources are necessary to protect the legal rights of the grieving family of a victim.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family of Garrett Leonard may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim. Families of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain, suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident.

“We understand just what families are forced to go through, and having their rights protected is vital,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “A wrongful death lawyer will stay updated on the official investigation and help ensure that their best interests are taken care of. Relatives of wrongful death victims are entitled to seek damages for the loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident.”
