FLORENCE, AL, (April 23, 2026) – A 36-year-old man was arrested Thursday morning after a police pursuit in Florence ended in a multi-vehicle crash that left another motorist injured.
According to the Florence Police Department, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle with an improper tag near Cloverdale and Rasch roads around 10 a.m. When the driver, identified as Drew Bonner, failed to stop, a pursuit began.
Authorities said Bonner struck another vehicle during the chase and also collided with a parked utility truck before crashing near Rose Drive.
The driver of the second vehicle was injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Bonner was taken into custody and faces multiple charges, including attempting to elude police, leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, driving with a revoked license, second-degree assault, and several traffic violations.
The Florence Police Department continues to review the incident.
