DORAL, FL (April 7, 2026) – Two teenagers were killed Tuesday evening in a fiery single-vehicle collision crash in Doral.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, a passenger car traveling southbound on 87th Avenue left the roadway near 54th Street shortly after 6 p.m., struck a pole, and caught fire.
The victims were identified as Mateo Dávila, 17, and Alessia Tucci, 16, both students at Downtown Doral Charter Upper School.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
According to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), 3,184 people lost their lives in motor vehicle crashes in Florida in 2024.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that speeding is the leading cause of fatal crashes, followed by impairment, failure to maintain lane position, failure to yield, and distracted driving.
