CHELAN, WA (June 25, 2026) — A passenger was injured Thursday afternoon in a suspected DUI rollover crash on State Route 97A north of Chelan, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
The collision occurred at approximately 4 p.m. about one mile north of Chelan near milepost 237.
Investigators said a red 1997 Toyota Paseo carrying two occupants was traveling southbound on Highway 97A when it veered onto the southbound shoulder and struck a boulder. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn before it came to rest blocking the southbound lane.
Fernando Pahua Rincon, 28, of Brewster, who was riding as a passenger, and the driver were transported to Chelan Health for treatment of injuries.
According to WSP, impairment is believed to have been a contributing factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
