ALMA, AR, (April 26, 2026) – A 39-year-old woman was injured early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 near Alma in Crawford County, according to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety.
Authorities said a 2018 Dodge Charger was traveling eastbound around 5 a.m. near milepost 14 when it lost control on wet pavement west of Alma. The vehicle then left the roadway and struck a guardrail.
The driver, identified as 40-year-old Christopher Marshall of Ozark, died as a result of the crash.
His passenger, Faye Ward of Ozark, sustained unspecified injuries and was transported for medical treatment.
Officials noted that wet pavement may have contributed to the crash. Arkansas State Police continue to investigate the circumstances.
