Evelyn Hardman injured in rollover cliff accident in Montana

BUTTE, MT, (April 07, 2026) – A teenage passenger was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon after a single-vehicle crash near the Big M in Butte, authorities said.

According to officials, a Subaru carrying five teens went off a 40-foot cliff at approximately 12:40 p.m. after the driver overcorrected while navigating a sharp curve. The vehicle then rolled multiple times.

Evelyn Hardman, one of the passengers, was transported to St. James Hospital in Butte before being transferred to a hospital in Billings for further treatment. She suffered significant injuries to her wrist and back.

A GoFundMe page has been created to assist the family during this time.

SINGLE-VEHICLE ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

The crash remains under investigation.

Candice Bond, a well-respected attorney specializing in accident cases, stated that in situations like this, it is essential to conduct a prompt independent investigation to preserve critical evidence.

“In addition to an official police report, an attorney will carefully examine all factors that may have contributed to the crash,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a national analyst for Accident Injury News.

“An attorney has access to expert witnesses, driver background reviews, witness statements, and insurance policy analysis. These resources help ensure victims receive fair compensation while protecting their legal rights,” Bond added.

Authorities are working to determine what caused the Subaru to leave the roadway. Single-vehicle crashes may involve factors such as distraction, fatigue, impairment, or reckless driving.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board, more than 19,000 people are injured annually in crashes across the United States, with many of these incidents being preventable.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, Evelyn Hardman may be entitled to a personal injury claim for medical and rehabilitation expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.

“Passengers injured in a crash often have several options when pursuing a personal injury claim,” Bond said. “A claim may be filed through the insurance policy of the vehicle they were in if the driver is found responsible, and it typically does not affect their own insurance coverage.”

“When crashes result from unsafe driving, speeding, distraction, or impairment, victims generally have the right to pursue civil action,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal.
