PIEDMONT, AL (June 29, 2026) — Two Piedmont women were killed Monday morning in a head-on collision involving a commercial semi-truck on U.S. Highway 278, according to the Piedmont Police Department.
Preliminary findings indicate that a Nissan Rogue traveling eastbound into Piedmont at approximately 5:15 a.m. crossed the center line in the 1700 block of U.S. Highway 278 and collided head-on with a commercial semi-truck.
Authorities identified the victims as Eva Lowe, 55, and Jasmine Spicer, 32, both of Piedmont. Both women were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the collision. The Piedmont Police Department continues to investigate.
