MIDTOWN, NY, (March 25, 2026) — Espina Bundley, a 69-year-old Queens woman, died Wednesday morning after a hit-and-run collision in Manhattan, NYPD officials reported.
The incident occurred around 4:28 a.m. at Second Avenue and E. 57th Street. Officers said Bundley was walking in the north crosswalk when a 2024 Chevrolet Suburban struck her. The driver fled the scene, turning left onto E. 57th Street. Emergency responders transported Bundley to a local hospital, where she later died.
The suspect, 43-year-old Bryan Alexis Guashpa Rumipamba from Queens, was taken into custody the same morning. He faces charges including leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death, failure to yield, and failure to exercise due care. The Collision Investigation Squad continues reviewing surveillance footage.
