Emma Horner, Marissa Hamrick hurt in Montville head-on crash

MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP, OH (June 25, 2026) — Two Rittman women were injured early Thursday morning following a fatal two-vehicle collision in Montville Township, according to local authorities.

The Montville Township Police Department said the crash occurred at approximately 5:36 a.m. on Wadsworth Road near the bridge over Interstate 71. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 31-year-old Mansfield resident, suffered fatal injuries and died at a nearby hospital.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. No additional information regarding contributing factors or potential charges has been released

CRASH INVESTIGATION

Approximately 2.2 million people were injured in motor vehicle accidents across the United States in 2023, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The NHTSA identifies speeding as the leading cause of traffic crashes, followed by impairment from alcohol, drugs, or medication, failure to remain in the proper lane, failure to yield the right of way, and distracted driving.

“It is essential to determine the precise cause of crashes like these,” said Candice Bond, managing partner with Bond Legal. “An attorney has the resources to examine available insurance coverage, retain qualified expert witnesses, conduct background investigations, and locate witnesses. We carefully guide families and injured victims through every step of the legal process.”

Bond added that independent investigations should begin as soon as possible to help preserve critical evidence before it is lost.

“Beyond reviewing the police report, an attorney will thoroughly examine every factor that may have contributed to the collision,” Bond said. “Legal counsel can retain experts, review the driver’s history, identify witnesses, and evaluate insurance coverage. As an advocate, an attorney helps injury victims navigate what is often a complex legal process,” she added.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, Emma Horner and Marissa Hamrick may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, noted that the stress and uncertainty following a serious injury can be overwhelming, affecting every aspect of a victim’s life, including family, employment, finances, and overall well-being. Legal consultation service.

“It is important for victims to retain an attorney when pursuing a personal injury claim, allowing legal counsel to negotiate with insurance companies on the client’s behalf,” Formica said.

“Insurance companies can be notoriously unconcerned with the mounting costs that an injured party may accrue. An attorney can help. We protect the victims of these tragedies daily, forcing the insurance companies to pay for their mistakes,” he added.
