Emily Harford injured after York Township accident, OSHP says

YORK TOWNSHIP, OH (April 6, 2026) – A 21-year-old West Lafayette woman was injured Monday in a head-on collision on Stonecreek Road in York Township.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Emily Harford was a passenger in a southbound vehicle when the driver crossed left of center around 1:15 p.m., striking a Toyota Highlander.

The impact forced the Highlander off the roadway and into a guardrail. Harford was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The driver of the Highlander was also injured, while a two-year-old child in the SUV was treated at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

HEAD-ON CRASH INVESTIGATION

Head-on collisions often result in severe injuries due to the high speeds at which both vehicles are traveling at impact.

According to Candice Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney, human error is the leading cause of these crashes. Factors such as distracted driving, impairment, fatigue, and poor road conditions can all contribute. Because of their severity, more than 10 percent of these crashes result in fatalities.

Regardless of any official findings, Bond emphasized the importance of conducting an independent investigation to preserve evidence and protect victims’ rights.

“An attorney can gather critical evidence needed to demonstrate negligence, which requires significant resources,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and national analyst for Accident Injury News. “Beyond law enforcement efforts, legal counsel can revisit witness statements, review surveillance footage, and obtain phone records. An attorney serves as an advocate, helping injured victims navigate this difficult time while protecting their legal interests.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Emily Harford may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, stated that the stress following a serious injury can affect every aspect of life.

“While no financial recovery can undo a serious injury, it is important for victims to understand their legal rights and options,” Formica added. “The injured victim in this crash may be eligible to seek compensation for medical costs, future care, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.”
