E-Scooter Rider Walter McCoy Dies After Melbourne Crash

The Melbourne Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit is actively investigating the crash.

Although bicyclists and e-scooter riders are protected under numerous traffic laws, they can still be injured in crashes that are not their fault.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), at least 233 deaths were linked to micro-mobility devices, including e-scooters, between 2017 and 2022.
