ST. PETERSBURG, FL, (May 31, 2026) — A 26-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning in a head-on crash involving three vehicles in St. Petersburg, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.
Authorities identified the victim as Dy’Jean Roberts, a passenger in a Nissan sedan involved in the collision.
Investigators said a Mercedes sedan traveling westbound on 18th Avenue South crossed into the eastbound lanes near 29th Street South at approximately 1:15 a.m. and struck the Nissan head-on. Following the initial collision, a westbound Oldsmobile crashed into the front of the Nissan.
Roberts suffered critical injuries and was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital St. Petersburg, where he later died.
Police said the drivers of both the Nissan and the Mercedes were initially taken to Bayfront Hospital before being transferred to Tampa General Hospital for treatment of critical injuries.
The St. Petersburg Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
