Dyess airman Jordan Ballard dies in Abilene motorcycle crash

ABILENE, TX (June 30, 2026) — A 19-year-old assigned to Dyess Air Force Base was killed Tuesday afternoon in a motorcycle crash at an Abilene intersection, according to police.

Investigators said Jordan Ballard was riding a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle at approximately 3:57 p.m. when a Jeep Wrangler attempted to turn left at the intersection of Texas Avenue and Dub Wright Boulevard. Police said the Jeep failed to yield the right of way and collided with the motorcycle.

Ballard sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No additional information about the Jeep driver has been released.

FATAL MOTORCYCLE CRASH INVESTIGATION
