JACKSON, WI (May 25, 2026) — A 68-year-old Beloit man was killed Monday night in a two-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 94 in Jackson County, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
Authorities said the collision occurred near Warrens around 10:45 p.m. near milepost 129 on westbound I-94. Investigators determined that a westbound 2018 Kia Optima struck the rear of a 2017 GMC Sierra.
The impact caused both vehicles to leave the roadway and overturn multiple times, state troopers said.
The driver of the GMC Sierra, identified as 68-year-old Duane Zaugg of Beloit, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 21-year-old Warrens woman driving the Kia survived the crash with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Emergency responders transported her to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, investigators believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the collision and said the Kia driver was allegedly under the influence at the time of the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no formal charges have been filed.
