EAST HELENA, MT, (Nov. 22, 2025) – A 69-year-old woman was killed Saturday night after a vehicle trying to elude police crashed into her home in East Helena, MT.
Montana Highway Patrol reported that Terry Lamping was inside her house when an Audi A7 driven by William Bart Stuart, 52, of Helena, struck the home at about 11 p.m.
Authorities said Stuart, who has four prior DUI convictions, was charged with felony vehicular homicide while under the influence, criminal endangerment, and fleeing or eluding a peace officer causing serious bodily injury or death.
Officials said Stuart ignored a traffic stop attempt near Canyon Ferry Road and Musselshell Road before reaching speeds of approximately 115 mph on Lake Helena Drive. The vehicle briefly braked before crashing through a fence and into the side of Lamping’s home, killing her.
