PORTLAND, OR (April 06, 2026) – A 17-year-old was injured in a tragic single-vehicle crash early Monday in Portland that left multiple people dead and one missing.
According to Portland Police, officers observed a speeding white 1996 Toyota Corolla at around 2 a.m. that ran multiple red lights and traveled the wrong way through downtown streets. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled.
The vehicle drove through Tom McCall Waterfront Park and plunged into the Willamette River after crashing through a barricade. DJ Buckner, 17, of Beavercreek, was rescued from the water and transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
