According to statistics provided by Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, there were 10,013 pedestrian-related crashes in 2022 in Florida, resulting in 765 fatalities.

Although drivers are generally required to yield to pedestrians, those on foot continue to face significant risks. The Governors Highway Safety Association reported 6,721 pedestrian deaths in 2020, an increase of 4.8% from 2019.
