Destiny Anthony killed in Lancaster big rig collision, officials say

LANCASTER, CA, (November 06, 2025) — Authorities have identified a woman killed early Thursday morning in a crash involving an 18-wheeler in Lancaster as 39-year-old Destiny Anthony.

According to preliminary reports, the collision occurred around 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of 30th Street West and Avenue G. A white Volkswagen Passat driven by Anthony collided with a big rig, causing the car to become trapped and dragged sideways by the truck.

Anthony, of Lancaster, tragically died from blunt traumatic injuries, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. The big rig driver was not injured.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Several factors can contribute to a tractor-trailer collision, including driver fatigue, tire blowouts, vehicle malfunctions, speeding, or loss of control. According to the National Safety Council, 5,375 large trucks were involved in fatal crashes in 2023 — an 8.4% decrease from 2022 but a 43% rise over the last decade, showing that trucking accidents remain a persistent safety concern.

Candice Bond, an experienced semi-truck accident attorney, emphasized that investigations into commercial vehicle crashes are often complex and may involve multiple agencies. Investigators review driver logs, maintenance records, and electronic onboard data to identify contributing factors.

“Having an experienced attorney on your side is crucial in cases like this,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal. “Trucking companies often send their own investigators to the scene and have significant resources to minimize liability. A skilled lawyer can help ensure that evidence is preserved, accountability is established, and the victim’s family receives the justice they deserve.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the family of Destiny Anthony may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim. Surviving family members of victims killed in catastrophic crashes may seek compensation for loss of companionship, emotional suffering, funeral costs, and other related damages.

“The emotional impact of losing a loved one so suddenly can be devastating,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “Ensuring that the family’s rights are fully protected throughout the legal process is essential.”

A compassionate wrongful death attorney can guide the family through each step of the legal process, monitor the ongoing investigation, and work diligently to secure fair and just compensation on their behalf.
