FORT WORTH, Texas — Police are investigating a deadly two-vehicle accident that occurred around 1:30 a.m. on June 22.
David Tristan Mayen, 31, of Fort Worth, was driving a blue Chevrolet pickup eastbound on Interstate 30, near Beach Street, when it struck a silver Toyota traveling ahead of it.
The Toyota, driven by a 40-year-old man, spun off the road and stopped in the grass below the freeway, police said.
EMS pronounced the driver of the Toyota dead at the scene. Authorities have not publicly released his name.
Mayen told officers both vehicles switched lanes before they lost control and left the roadway. After a field sobriety test, police arrested Mayen on a charge of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle.
He was taken to Tarrant County Jail. Officials set bond at $25,000.
