WOODBURY, NY (June 8, 2026) — A Queens man died from injuries he sustained in a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash on June 8 in Woodbury, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
Police said 34-year-old David Ramos Acosta was walking east along Jericho Turnpike near Village Lane at approximately 9:15 p.m. when he was struck by a 2005 Honda.
Acosta suffered serious injuries in the collision and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Authorities said he later succumbed to his injuries on July 1, 2026.
The driver of the Honda, a 23-year-old woman, remained at the scene following the crash and was not injured.
The Nassau County Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal pedestrian collision.
