JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Jamestown police are investigating a fatal pickup-versus-bicycle accident that occurred June 17 at a city intersection.
Emergency responders arrived just after 1:30 p.m. at Willard and Kinney Streets following reports of a bicyclist being struck.
Officers said that 11-year-old Daniel Ramos was riding a bicycle when a pickup truck hit him at the intersection, according to Jamestown Police.
Medics transported him to UPMC Chautauqua and then airlifted him to Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo. Ramos succumbed to his injuries the following day, police confirmed.
Authorities said the pickup driver remained at the scene and has cooperated with the investigation. No charges have been filed.
