Dalton Mitchell Suffers Injuries in Mississippi County Wreck

ARMOREL, AR, (May 12, 2026) – One person was killed and three others were injured Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 312 near Armorel in Mississippi County, according to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety.

Authorities said the collision occurred at approximately 5:10 a.m. when a 2015 Ford Fusion allegedly failed to yield while attempting to turn left at the intersection. The vehicle entered the path of an eastbound 2019 GMC Acadia driven by 25-year-old Dalton J. Mitchell.

Investigators said the GMC struck the Ford Fusion, leaving the vehicle disabled in the roadway. Moments later, a 2026 Honda CR-V collided with the disabled Fusion.

The driver of the Ford Fusion died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Officials have not yet publicly released the victim’s identity.

Mitchell suffered injuries in the collision and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The driver of the Honda CR-V, identified as a 36-year-old adult, along with a juvenile passenger, also sustained injuries and were taken to an area hospital.

Arkansas State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

Each year, millions of people suffer injuries in traffic accidents across the United States, many resulting in serious and lasting consequences. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, approximately 2.44 million people were injured in motor vehicle crashes nationwide in 2023.

While authorities continue to investigate the cause and liability factors connected to this collision, Candice Bond, an experienced accident attorney and Managing Partner of Bond Legal, emphasized the importance of conducting an independent investigation.

“In addition to the thorough work completed by law enforcement, an attorney can revisit the scene, speak again with witnesses, review surveillance footage, and secure phone and texting records from the liable party,” said Bond, a national analyst for Accident Injury News.

“Cases like these require prompt action, and it is critical that the victim’s family ensures all evidence is preserved and carefully examined,” Bond added.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, victims injured in the crash may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, explained that the emotional and financial strain following a serious accident can affect every area of a victim’s life, including employment, family responsibilities, and overall well-being.

“It is important for victims to retain an attorney when pursuing a personal injury claim so that negotiations with insurance companies can be handled properly on behalf of the client,” Formica said.

“Insurance providers frequently attempt to secure quick settlements for far less than a claim may truly be worth. An experienced attorney will advocate aggressively to help ensure victims are treated fairly and receive appropriate compensation,” he added.
