OSHP: Dale Peck hurt in Lebanon rollover crash on Ohio 48

LEBANON, OH, (April 21, 2026) – A multi-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning in Lebanon left a Middletown man and two others seriously injured, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).

Authorities said the collision occurred shortly before 4 a.m. near Arrow Springs Boulevard along Ohio 48. A southbound Chevrolet Suburban reportedly veered out of its lane, crossed the median, and struck a northbound Chevrolet Traverse. The Suburban then hit a 2012 Honda Civic before overturning and coming to rest across the roadway.

Dale Peck, 54, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital for treatment. Another motorist in the Traverse was also seriously injured and taken to Atrium Medical Center.

Officials stated that the driver of the Suburban fled the scene on foot following the crash. Law enforcement later located the individual at a medical facility, and he was subsequently airlifted to a hospital for evaluation of minor injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.

HIT-AND-RUN INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Leaving the scene of a crash is a criminal offense, and statistics indicate that approximately 11 percent of all collisions involve a hit-and-run driver. In many instances, at-fault motorists attempt to avoid accountability by fleeing, but they can still face charges once identified.

Attorney Candice Bond highlighted the importance of a timely and independent investigation to safeguard victims’ rights. “Having the proper resources is extremely important to investigate a hit-and-run accident case and prove negligence,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal. “Road conditions, signage visibility, and road lighting are all possible contributing factors that must be fully reviewed. These steps are essential to help injured victims secure justice and financial compensation.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, Dale Peck may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal, explained that the stress caused by a serious injury can affect every aspect of a victim’s life, including family, employment, finances, and overall well-being.

“It is important for victims to retain an attorney when pursuing a personal injury claim, allowing proper negotiation with insurance companies on their behalf,” Formica said.

“Insurance providers often attempt to settle quickly for less than the claim’s true value. An attorney will strongly advocate for their client to ensure fair treatment and appropriate compensation,” he added.
