Crash accident in Cleburne County injures Levi Scott, ASP says

CLEBURNE, AR (April 4, 2026) – A Heber Springs man was injured and another driver later died following a single-vehicle crash accident Saturday morning in rural Cleburne County.

According to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 10:37 a.m. on Arkansas 124. A northbound 1996 Dodge reportedly failed to maintain control while navigating a left curve.

The vehicle left the roadway, struck a culvert, and overturned. Authorities noted that the roadway was wet at the time of the wreck.

Passenger Levi Scott, 26, was transported to Baptist Health Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

The driver, a 26-year-old man from Searcy, was taken to UAMS in Little Rock, where he later succumbed to injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

Wet roadway conditions significantly heighten the risk of crashes, as rain reduces tire grip, increases stopping distances, and may lead to hydroplaning. Even a light rainfall can bring oil and debris to the surface, creating slick and hazardous pavement.

Drivers often underestimate how much they need to reduce speed or adjust steering and braking. Minor errors—such as abrupt braking or overcorrecting—can quickly result in a loss of vehicle control.

“Factors such as road conditions, visibility, and lighting are carefully evaluated as part of the investigation,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner with Bond Legal.

“In many cases, accident reconstruction teams are brought in to determine the sequence of events. These efforts are essential in helping victims pursue rightful compensation following a collision,” Bond added.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the findings of the investigation, Levi Scott may be eligible to pursue a personal injury claim.

Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal, stated that the aftermath of a serious injury can be overwhelming, affecting a victim’s family life, employment, finances, and overall well-being.

“It is important for victims to seek legal representation when filing a personal injury claim so that negotiations with insurance companies can be handled effectively,” Formica added.

“Insurance companies frequently attempt to settle claims quickly for less than their true value. An attorney will advocate strongly to ensure fair treatment and appropriate compensation,” he said.
