YBOR CITY, FL (Nov. 9, 2025) – A devastating pedestrian crash in Tampa’s Ybor City early Saturday left four people dead and 13 others injured, including 22-year-old Connor Dietrich, authorities said.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a trooper attempted to stop a silver 2019 Toyota Camry around 12:44 a.m. after an aviation unit observed the vehicle street racing on Interstate 275. The driver fled east on Seventh Avenue, prompting the trooper to terminate the pursuit due to the number of pedestrians in the area while surveillance of the vehicle continued.
Moments later, the Camry swerved to avoid a Jeep near the intersection of Seventh Avenue and 15th Street, hitting a Mazda before careening into pedestrians outside Bradley’s Bar. Four people were pronounced dead at the scene.
Connor Dietrich suffered multiple skull fractures, a broken shoulder and clavicle, and a lacerated spleen. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa for treatment. The driver, showing signs of impairment, was detained after attempting to flee on foot. A blood sample was collected under warrant and is pending analysis.
