Coby Williams hurt in Franklin County Polaris rollover crash

FRANKLIN, AR, (July 04, 2026) – A Huntsville man was killed and a passenger was injured early Saturday morning when a side-by-side vehicle overturned along State Highway 23 in rural Franklin County, according to the Arkansas State Police.

Authorities said the crash occurred at approximately 2:54 a.m. when a 2018 Polaris side-by-side was traveling south near the Mulberry Mountain Loop. Investigators reported that the vehicle left the roadway, overturned, and struck a tree.

The 22-year-old driver, a Huntsville resident, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead following the crash.

Passenger Coby Williams, 27, of Witter, was injured in the rollover and transported to Washington Regional Medical Center for treatment. Officials have not released details regarding the extent of his injuries.

The Arkansas State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

ATV ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that off-highway vehicles, including ATVs, are involved in an annual average of more than 800 deaths and approximately 100,000 emergency department-treated injuries. Children under the age of 16 consistently account for a significant portion of these fatalities, highlighting the continuing dangers associated with ATV use among riders of all ages.

Candice Bond, a Managing Partner at Bond Legal and national analyst for Newsline, said that in cases like this, an independent investigation should be conducted as early as possible to help preserve critical evidence.

“In addition to reviewing the official police report, an attorney will examine all factors that may have contributed to the crash,” Bond said.

“Your lawyer has the resources to retain expert witnesses, perform background investigations, identify and interview witnesses, and evaluate all available insurance coverage. Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help an injured victim navigate what is often a complex legal process.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, an injured victim may be entitled to pursue a personal injury lawsuit.

Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal, said that the emotional and financial burdens following a serious injury can affect every aspect of a person’s life, including family responsibilities, employment, finances, and overall well-being.

“It is important for victims to retain an attorney when pursuing a personal injury claim because legal counsel can negotiate with insurance companies on behalf of the client,” Formica said.

“Insurance companies frequently attempt to resolve claims quickly for substantially less than their true value. An attorney will work diligently to protect a client’s rights and seek fair compensation while ensuring they are treated with dignity throughout the process.”
