Cobb police: Que’tonyanna Young hurt in DUI accident

COBB, GA (April 14, 2026) – A suspected DUI crash Tuesday night in Cobb County resulted in serious injuries to multiple people, including 21-year-old Que’tonyanna Young, authorities said.

According to the Cobb County Police Department, a Chevrolet Trax was traveling southbound on Cumberland Parkway near Mt. Wilkinson Parkway at about 10:43 p.m. when the driver attempted a left turn and entered the path of an oncoming Mercedes-Benz.

Young, a passenger in the Mercedes-Benz, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for treatment. Another passenger from the Chevrolet was also seriously hurt, while two others suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet was arrested and charged with DUI, failure to yield, and felony serious injury by vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

DUI ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

This accident was clearly preventable. Impaired drivers are a danger to everyone on the roadway and often cause life-altering crashes.

“Drunken and drugged drivers are subject to criminal charges following an accident or collision that causes harm or kills another person,” explained Candice Bond, a Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

“In addition to criminal charges, victims or their families may be eligible to seek compensation through a civil lawsuit against the at-fault party,” said Bond, an experienced DUI accident attorney.

According to the National Safety Council, about 10 percent of all fatal crashes involve drivers impaired by alcohol, drugs, or medications, making them a leading cause of roadway fatalities in the country.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Que’tonyanna Young may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim pending an investigation.

Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal, stated, “Injured victims involved in collisions often pursue compensation to cover medical bills, ongoing treatment, lost income, emotional distress, and pain and suffering.”

“Insurance companies frequently attempt to minimize payouts, but an attorney can advocate for victims and ensure they receive fair compensation,” he added.
