Cloverdale’s Blaine Warnimont Dies in R-109 Delta Crash

DELTA, OH, (June 28, 2026) – A 29-year-old Cloverdale man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on June 28 in Delta, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Blaine Warnimont was driving south on State Route 109 just before 5:30 p.m. when a vehicle driven by a 25-year-old Fayette man traveling west on County Road D failed to stop at a stop sign at Route 109, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles.

Both vehicles went off the southwest corner of the intersection and struck a utility pole and cable box before coming to rest in a cornfield.

Warnimont was transported to a medical facility in Wauseon, where he was pronounced deceased. His passenger was taken to a Toledo hospital with unspecified injuries.

The Fayette driver sustained minor injuries in the crash.

FATAL TWO-VEHICLE ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

The crash remains under investigation.

Traffic laws clearly state that drivers must stop at all stop signs and stoplights. Unfortunately, motorists do not always abide by these laws. According to the Federal Highway Administration, approximately 40% of automobile collisions take place at road intersections, and the cause is usually related to running a stop sign or a stoplight. Some of the reasons drivers blow through stoplights are impatience, reckless driving, and distracted driving.

Regardless of the findings of any police investigation, Candice Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney, stressed that it’s imperative to hire an attorney to conduct an independent investigation into the cause of the crash to secure evidence and protect the rights of a grieving family.

“Time is of the essence in cases such as this, and a grieving family must be ensured that evidence is reviewed in an efficient manner,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a national analyst for Accident Injury News. “In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney will carefully examine what may have contributed to the crash and has the resources to hire expert witnesses, conduct driver background checks, locate witnesses to the crash, and review applicable insurance coverage. Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help compassionately guide families during this difficult time, while protecting their legal rights and best interests.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, the family of Blaine Warnimont may be entitled to file a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of love and companionship, funeral costs, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident such as this one.

“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal. “We understand just what families are forced to go through, and having their rights protected is vital. A wrongful death lawyer will stay updated on the official investigation and help ensure that their legal rights and best interests are protected.”
