Cinnamon Cellitti Charged in Loves Park Pedestrian Crash

LOVES PARK, IL (June 17, 2026) — A 48-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly striking a pedestrian and fleeing the scene in Loves Park, according to authorities.

Cinnamon Cellitti was allegedly driving a vehicle at approximately 10:40 a.m. when it struck a female pedestrian in the 400 block of Clifford Avenue near North 2nd Street, authorities said.

The unidentified victim suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash.

Cellitti faces several charges, including reckless driving, failure to reduce speed, failure to report a crash, and failure to stop and remain on the scene of an accident involving personal injury, according to authorities.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Statistics show that more than one hit-and-run crash occurs every minute across the United States, with an average of 682,000 such crashes reported annually since 2006.

Many drivers flee the scene of a crash out of fear of arrest, often because they are intoxicated, driving without a valid license, or otherwise concerned about the consequences of remaining at the scene.

Candice Bond, an experienced hit-and-run accident attorney, said that in cases like this, it’s critical for victims to have an independent investigation conducted by a seasoned attorney as soon as possible in order to protect their legal rights.

“It is always a driver’s duty to yield to any pedestrian,” said Bond, an analyst for Accident Injury News.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, the pedestrian may be entitled to pursue damages through a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal, noted that the stress and anxiety following a serious injury can be overwhelming, disrupting every aspect of life, including family, finances, and overall quality of life.

“It’s vital for victims to hire an attorney when filing a personal injury claim, as this allows the attorney to negotiate with the insurance company on the client’s behalf,” Formica said. “Insurance companies frequently try to pressure victims into accepting a quick settlement for far less than the case is worth. An attorney, however, will vigorously advocate for their client to ensure they are treated with respect and compensated fairly.”
