Teen Christian Hamilton suffers head injury in Panama Beach cart crash

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL, (April 08, 2026) – An 18-year-old was seriously injured Wednesday in a golf cart accident in Panama City Beach.

Christian Hamilton was riding as a passenger when the golf cart overturned, ejecting him from the vehicle. He sustained a severe head injury and was rushed to a nearby trauma center, where doctors performed emergency surgery to remove a hematoma from his brain.

Hamilton remains in the intensive care unit and is under close observation as he awaits another surgical procedure. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

A GoFundMe has been established to assist the family with mounting medical expenses.

GOLF CART ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

Golf cart accidents can happen for a variety of reasons, including speeding, lack of experience, distracted driving, aggressive behavior, and operating under the influence.

Each year, roughly 18,000 golf cart-related accidents in the U.S. require emergency medical treatment. Although commonly used on golf courses, these vehicles are increasingly seen on public roads and in residential areas.

While investigators continue to determine the exact cause of this crash, Candice Bond, an experienced accident attorney and Managing Partner of Bond Legal, emphasized the importance of an independent investigation.

“In addition to the work completed by law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview key witnesses, review any surveillance footage from the scene, and obtain phone and texting records of the responsible party,” said Bond, a national analyst for Accident Injury News. “An attorney can also provide guidance to injured victims and their families, helping protect their legal rights and interests during a difficult time.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

The victim injured in this accident may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, stated that the stress and uncertainty following a serious injury can be overwhelming, impacting family life, employment, finances, and overall well-being.

“While no amount of compensation can fully undo a severe injury, it is crucial that victims understand their legal rights and the compensation they may be entitled to,” Formica explained. “The injured party in this case may pursue an injury claim and seek damages for medical costs, future treatment, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.”
