OGDENSBURG, N.Y.— A young woman riding a bicycle was struck and killed by a pickup truck on Lafayette Street on April 13.
The Ogdensburg Police Department reported the accident occurred at night in the westbound roadway. The bicycle and a Ford pickup collided, leading to life-threatening injuries for the cyclist.
Investigators identified Cheyanne Morales, a 19-year-old woman from Cleburne, Texas, as the bicyclist killed in the accident. Emergency responders transported Morales to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, where she succumbed to injuries.
The driver of the pickup, a 24-year-old man from Lisbon, remained at the scene.
Police confirmed the investigation is ongoing.
