FATAL PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

According to Candice Bond, an experienced pedestrian accident attorney, many pedestrian accidents occur due to driver negligence or lack of attention. Unfortunately, even when pedestrians follow traffic rules and safety precautions, they remain vulnerable to being struck.

Data from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) shows that 7,314 pedestrians were killed nationwide in 2023, accounting for 18% of all traffic fatalities. Tragically, a pedestrian is killed every 72 minutes and injured every 8 minutes in the United States.

Bond emphasized that in cases like this, it is crucial to have an independent investigation conducted by an experienced attorney to protect the rights of the victim’s family.

“Having the proper resources is essential to thoroughly investigate a pedestrian accident and establish negligence,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal. “Factors such as road conditions, visibility of signage, and lighting must all be carefully reviewed. These steps are vital in helping families secure justice and the compensation they deserve.”

Bond added: “In most situations, pedestrians have the right of way when crossing a street or intersection, regardless of whether it is a marked crosswalk. Drivers always have a responsibility to yield to pedestrians.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the family members of Chelsea Nagle may be eligible to file a wrongful death claim. Families of wrongful death victims may pursue damages for loss of companionship, pain, suffering, and emotional distress following such a tragic incident.

“The emotional toll after losing a loved one in an accident can be overwhelming,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “We understand what families go through, and ensuring their rights are protected is essential. A wrongful death attorney will stay informed about the investigation and help safeguard their legal rights and best interests.”
