FRANKLIN, FL, (April 06, 2026) – A 16-year-old Georgia teen was among three students killed Monday in a single-vehicle crash in Franklin County, authorities said.
According to officials, Charlotte Martin of Cumming was traveling with three other Horizon Christian Academy students to St. George Island for spring break when their Jeep left Florida Highway 65 and struck a tree.
The vehicle caught fire following the collision.
Good Samaritans pulled one occupant from the vehicle moments before it became engulfed in flames.
Martin and two other students were pronounced dead at the scene.
A 17-year-old survivor was airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, where he remained hospitalized.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
