FATAL DWI CRASH INVESTIGATION

According to the Washington Traffic Safety Commission, impaired driving continues to pose a serious safety concern, contributing to approximately 300 deaths annually.

Data shows that between 2019 and 2023, at least half of all traffic fatalities in the state involved a driver under the influence. Alcohol or drug impairment can affect judgment, vision, coordination, and reaction time, significantly increasing crash risks.

Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national analyst with Accident Injury News, commented on incidents like this:

“Separate from criminal charges, a victim’s family may be entitled to compensation through a civil lawsuit against the responsible party. In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-examine key witnesses, review available surveillance footage, and obtain phone and text records of the liable party. Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help compassionately guide a family during this difficult time, protecting their legal rights while ensuring that a drunk driver is held accountable for their reckless actions.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family members of Charles Vincent Reyes Febrer may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim. Families of victims in fatal accidents can seek compensation for loss of companionship, emotional suffering, and other damages resulting from the tragedy.

“We understand the challenges families face after such devastating incidents, and protecting their rights is essential,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “A wrongful death attorney can monitor the official investigation and work to safeguard the family’s interests. Loved ones of victims are entitled to pursue damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic accident.”
