CROWN POINT, NY (June 30, 2026) — A two-vehicle collision at a Crown Point intersection Tuesday evening left one person dead and four others injured, according to New York State Police.
Authorities said the crash occurred at approximately 5:56 p.m. when a 2019 Toyota Prius traveling westbound on Bridge Road collided with a 2012 Toyota Highlander traveling northbound on State Route 9N.
Police identified the driver of the Highlander as 48-year-old Charles A. Robertson of Port Henry. Robertson and two passengers, 30-year-old Brandon J. Chappell and 33-year-old Ryan P. Boepple, were injured in the collision and transported to Moses-Ludington Hospital for treatment.
The 69-year-old driver of the Toyota Prius suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. A passenger riding in the Prius sustained critical injuries and was taken to a hospital for medical care.
Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision. No additional information regarding the cause of the crash has been released.
