Charles Graham hurt in Bibb County car accident, ALEA says

WEST BLOCTON, AL (March 9, 2026) — A head-on collision on a rural Bibb County road Tuesday morning left one man dead and another hospitalized, according to Alabama State Troopers.

Authorities said Charles D. Graham, 50, of West Blocton, was driving a Jeep Cherokee on Bibb County 9 near Blue Pond Road around 8:45 a.m. when it collided head-on with a Honda Accord. The crash occurred roughly 10 miles west of Woodstock.

Graham was transported to Bibb Medical Center with injuries of unspecified severity. The driver of the Accord, a 37-year-old West Blocton man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No contributing factors have been released. ALEA continues to investigate the crash.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the U.S. recorded 33,654 fatal motor vehicle crashes in 2018, resulting in 36,560 deaths — about 11.2 deaths per 100,000 people and 1.13 deaths per 100 million miles traveled.

Road conditions, visibility, and lighting are all potential contributing factors that investigators examine thoroughly,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

An accident reconstruction team may be needed to determine exactly what happened. These resources are important for helping clients pursue compensation for damages or losses following a collision,” Bond added, according to Accident Injury News.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Charles Graham may have the right to pursue personal injury claims pending the outcome of the investigation.

Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal, said, “Injured victims involved in a collision often pursue personal injury claims to cover medical expenses, future care, lost income, emotional trauma, and pain and suffering.”

Insurance companies can be unconcerned with the mounting costs an injured party may face. An attorney can help, advocating for victims and ensuring insurance companies cover the compensation owed,” Formica added.
