LEWIS, WA (April 9, 2026) – A multi-vehicle collision crash Thursday afternoon in Lewis County left two men injured, including one suspected of driving under the influence, according to authorities.
The Washington State Patrol reported that the crash occurred at approximately 3:22 p.m. on State Route 6.
Investigators said a Ford Escape traveling westbound struck a Ford Mustang that had stopped while preparing to turn onto Curtis Hill Road. The impact caused the Escape to spin into the eastbound lane, where it was struck by a Ford Fusion driven by 33-year-old Taylor K. Philp.
Philp and the Escape driver were both airlifted to hospitals with injuries.
Authorities indicated that the Escape driver may face charges of DUI and vehicular assault.
