AURORA, CO, (April 27, 2026) – A suspect is in custody following a chain-reaction crash in Aurora on Monday that left four people injured, including two pregnant women.
According to the Aurora Police Department, multiple 911 calls around 6 p.m. reported a white delivery van driving recklessly. Authorities used the city’s outdoor camera network to track the vehicle, observing it traveling onto sidewalks, into oncoming traffic, and running red lights.
Officers attempted to stop the van, but the driver fled. Due to the danger posed, the pursuit was discontinued. Shortly after, the van entered the intersection at East Sixth Avenue and Potomac Street at high speed, nearly hitting a pedestrian before causing a multi-vehicle collision.
One pregnant woman sustained serious injuries, while three others, including another pregnant woman, were also hurt.
Police identified the driver as 34-year-old Chad Gow of Denver. He reportedly resisted officers before being taken into custody. Preliminary findings suggest he may have been under the influence of narcotics. Gow faces multiple charges, including vehicular assault and eluding police.
The investigation remains ongoing.
