MSP: Can Dinh Le suffers life-threatening injuries in Fridley crash

FRIDLEY, MN, (April 16, 2026) – An 85-year-old man, identified as Can Dinh Le, was seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Fridley, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities said the collision occurred just before 1 p.m. at the intersection of State Highway 47 and Osborne Road Northeast. A 2007 Toyota Highlander traveling southbound on Highway 47 collided with a 2007 Toyota Corolla that was turning right onto the highway from eastbound Osborne Road.

Le, the driver of the Corolla, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center. The driver of the Highlander was also injured but did not require hospitalization.

The crash remains under investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Every year, millions are injured in U.S. traffic crashes—many with life-altering consequences. Approximately 2.2 million were injured in motor vehicle accidents in 2023 across the country, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

While the cause and liability of the crash are being investigated, Candice Bond, an experienced accident attorney and Managing Partner of Bond Legal, emphasized the importance of an independent investigation conducted by a skilled attorney.

“In addition to the thorough work carried out by law enforcement, an attorney can revisit key witnesses, review available surveillance footage, and obtain critical phone and texting records of the responsible party,” said Bond, a national analyst for Accident Injury News.

“Time is crucial in cases like these, and the victim’s family must ensure that all evidence is promptly and properly examined.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, Can Dinh Le may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, noted that the stress and worry following a serious injury can be overwhelming, affecting all aspects of life, including family, work, finances, and overall well-being.

“It is essential for victims to retain an attorney when filing a personal injury claim, allowing legal representation to negotiate with insurance companies on their behalf,” Formica added.

“Insurance providers often attempt to pressure victims into accepting quick settlements that are far below the true value of the claim. An attorney will strongly advocate to ensure fair treatment and proper compensation.”
