Brooke Boulanger killed after UTV rollover crash in Stephenson

STEPHENSON, WI (April 4, 2026) — A tragic UTV accident Saturday afternoon in Crivitz claimed the life of one individual and left another injured, according to authorities.

Officials identified the victim as 40-year-old Brooke Boulanger of Crivitz. She was driving northbound on Caldron Falls Road near Fawn Lane shortly before 3 p.m. when she was unable to navigate a curve, causing the UTV to overturn. Both Boulanger and her passenger were ejected from the vehicle and became trapped underneath it.

An off-duty Marinette County Sheriff’s detective happened upon the crash and immediately began providing assistance. Sadly, Boulanger, who was not wearing a helmet or seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Preliminary reports indicate that excessive speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office.

UTV ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

According to Consumer Product Safety Commission statistics, about 568 adults and 144 children die each year in ATV and UTV crashes, and many more are injured.

Candice Bond, who is Managing Partner at Bond Legal and national analyst for Accident Injury News, said in cases like this it is crucial to conduct an independent investigation as soon as possible to preserve key evidence.

“In addition to the official police report, an attorney will closely examine all contributing factors behind the crash,” Bond explained.

“An attorney also has the resources to bring in expert witnesses, perform background checks, identify witnesses, and review insurance coverage. Acting as an advocate, a lawyer can guide victims through what is often a complex process.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, an injured victim may be entitled to pursue a personal injury lawsuit.

Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal, stated that the stress and uncertainty following a serious injury can affect every aspect of a victim’s life, including work, finances, and family.

“It is important for victims to retain an attorney when filing a personal injury claim, allowing proper negotiation with insurance companies,” Formica said.

“Insurance providers often attempt to settle quickly for far less than a claim’s true value. An attorney will advocate strongly to ensure fair treatment and appropriate compensation.”
