Brody Vance Hurt in Lincoln Township Crash, OSHP Says

LINCOLN TOWNSHIP, OH, February 22, 2026 — An 18-year-old man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening on County Road 25 in Lincoln Township, Morrow County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Authorities said Brody Vance of Marion was driving a GMC Sierra pickup truck at approximately 7 p.m. when his vehicle was struck by a Jeep Liberty traveling eastbound. Investigators reported that the Jeep crossed left of center into Vance’s lane, causing the collision.

Vance was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital for treatment. The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety reports that left-of-center collisions frequently result from driver error, distraction, fatigue, impairment, or roadway design issues.

Lane departure crashes continue to account for a significant number of serious accidents nationwide. Over a recent three-year period, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data showed that 19,158 fatalities were linked to these types of collisions.

Candice Bond, a veteran accident attorney, said that in incidents like this, it is critical to have an independent investigation conducted by an experienced lawyer as early as possible to help preserve key evidence.

“Beyond the work performed by law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview crucial witnesses, review available surveillance footage, and obtain phone and texting records of the at-fault party,” said Bond, a national analyst for Accident Injury News. “Acting as an advocate, a lawyer can assist injured victims and their families during an extremely difficult time while safeguarding their legal rights and best interests.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Brody Vance may be entitled to pursue a personal injury claim stemming from the crash. Stefano Formica, of counsel with Bond Legal, noted that the stress and uncertainty following a serious injury can be overwhelming and may affect every aspect of a victim’s life, including family, employment, finances, and overall well-being.

“While no amount of compensation can undo a life-altering injury, it is essential that victims understand their legal rights and the remedies available to them,” Formica said. “An injured party in a collision such as this may seek recovery for damages including medical bills, future treatment needs, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.”
