HANCOCK COUNTY, Ill. — A Golden man died in a two-vehicle collision the morning of June 5 along IL-336 in Hancock County, according to Illinois State Police.
ISP said 47-year-old Brian Kelty died as the result of the crash. It occurred around 6:18 a.m. on IL-336 at 400 North, approximately three miles east of West Point.
The collision involved Kelty’s Ford Explorer SUV and a Kenworth semi tractor-trailer. The front of the truck came to rest in a roadside ditch following the impact.
The Hancock County Coroner’s Office pronounced Kelty dead at the scene.
Responders closed the road temporarily due to an investigation.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including Illinois State Police, West Point Fire Department, Bowen Fire Department, and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash remains under investigation by Illinois State Police. No additional information was immediately available.
