Braylyn Knowles killed after ATV hits pole in Grand Bay AL

GRAND BAY, AL (April 12, 2026) – A 16-year-old tragically lost his life following an ATV accident Sunday in Grand Bay.

According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, Braylyn Knowles was riding on an ATV with several other juveniles when the vehicle struck an embankment. Authorities said the driver attempted to regain control but overcorrected, causing a tire to hit a light pole and the ATV to overturn.

Knowles became trapped beneath the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. He was later pronounced dead.

Officials confirmed that Knowles was a student and baseball player at Pascagoula High School. The incident remains under investigation.

FATAL ATV CRASH INVESTIGATION

ATVs have grown increasingly popular in the U.S. as a source of recreation and adventure.

However, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports that ATV accidents result in more than 700 deaths and 100,000 injuries each year. Candice Bond, an experienced ATV accident attorney, noted that in cases such as this, it is essential to conduct an independent investigation to help protect the rights of the victim’s grieving family.

“In addition to a police report, an attorney will carefully assess all possible contributing factors to the crash,” said Bond, a Managing Partner at Bond Legal and national analyst for Accident Injury News. “A lawyer has the resources to hire expert witnesses, perform background checks, locate witnesses, and review applicable insurance coverage. As an advocate, an attorney can help guide a family while protecting their legal rights.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the family members of Braylyn Knowles may be entitled to a wrongful death claim. Families of wrongful death victims may pursue compensation for loss of companionship, pain, suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic accident such as this.

“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “We understand the difficulties families face, and protecting their rights is crucial. A wrongful death attorney will remain updated on the official investigation and work to ensure that their legal rights and best interests are protected.”
