FOLEY, Ala.— A pickup truck struck two teens riding an electric scooter, killing both, on County Road 65 on April 13.
Foley Police reported the accident occurred at about 9 p.m. south of Airport Road. The scooter and a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado pickup were both traveling northbound when the truck hit the teens. Police said the vehicle came to rest in the woods.
Authorities identified Brandon Palencia, a 19-year-old from New York, and Cesar Chavez, an 18-year-old from Foley, as the victims of the accident. Emergency responders pronounced both teens dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck was not injured and remained at the scene. Foley Police confirmed the investigation is ongoing.
